Experience • Knowledge • Results

David was a co-owner and partner in the law firm of Lowe & Lowe, LLC for 15 years. Some of the cases below represent just a few of Lowe & Lowe’s accomplishments during his tenure at the firm:

Personal Injury and Product Liability

  • A client received a jury verdict of $675,000 for an ankle injury and PTSD after being hit head-on by a tractor-trailer rig in southeast Missouri.
  • A client received a significant settlement from a nationwide hair salon where an employee applied a spiral permanent wave, burning the client’s scalp and damaging her hair.
  • A man who lost his lower arm in the retraction cycle of a defectively designed log splitter received a settlement.
  • Two men received crush injuries when the landing gear on a trailer they were unloading sank into the ground, causing the trailer to tip and the steel siding to pin them inside. Both cases settled for confidential amounts.
  • A client was unloading his commercial vehicle at a grain elevator at night, stepped into an open auger pit, and suffered serious leg injuries from the moving auger. We obtained a six-figure settlement for the client through formal mediation.
  • A client received a six-figure settlement after her below-the-knee prosthesis failed, causing a fall and requiring an above-the-knee amputation.

Wrongful Death

  • A family whose young son was crushed by a defectively designed dresser received a six-figure settlement.
  • A family who lost their unborn child in a car accident received a settlement for the wrongful death of the baby and the mother’s personal injuries.
  • A family who lost their 85-year-old father in a head-on collision received a settlement through mediation with the insurance company before any formal litigation was filed.

Medical Malpractice

  • Several young clients received six-figure settlements from the same physician in Rolla, Missouri. The physician performed tonsillectomies on a number of children, causing permanent scarring near the Eustachian tubes and naso- and oropharyngeal area.
  • Another client received a substantial six-figure settlement from the same Rolla physician, who punctured the client’s dura during a UP3 surgery.

Federal Tort Claim (claims for Injury Against the Federal Government)

  • A client received an improperly administered elbow injection, suffered significant loss of motor and sensory function in the left arm, and received a six-figure settlement under the Federal Tort Claims Act.
  • A child residing on Fort Leonard Wood suffered dog bite wounds to the face and received a settlement through a Federal Tort Claims Act claim.

Many of the cases handled by the law firm of Lowe Dreesen Miller are confidential in nature—both in terms of client identity and the settlements or verdicts obtained. Therefore, this list includes only instances where clients have agreed to share certain case details or where the information was part of publicly filed pleadings.
