As the holidays approach, it’s a time to reflect on the blessings we enjoy and the people who make our community a better place to live. At Lowe Dreesen Miller, we are deeply thankful for the small-town values that connect us in Pulaski County and the surrounding counties, and the hardworking individuals who dedicate themselves to serving others. This season, we encourage you to take intentional steps to show your gratitude. Here are some simple yet meaningful ways (with links for more information) to express your thanks and give back:

1. Write Letters of Appreciation Encourage your family to write thank-you notes or letters to a local teacher, police officer, firefighter, military member, or veteran. A few kind words can make a big impact and brighten someone’s day.

2. Create Care Packages Assemble small care packages with items like snacks, hygiene products, and notes of encouragement for deployed service members, veterans, or first responders. Here is information from the USO on how to show appreciation with care packages. You can also donate to organizations like the USO or Wounded Warrior Project to support their work with care packages. 

3. Volunteer in the Community Dedicate time to serving alongside local organizations that help those in need. Consider bell-ringing for the Salvation Army, being inovloved and supporting your local church Christmas activities and outreaches,  or volunteering at a local food pantry or shelter.
