As the holidays approach, it’s a time to reflect on the blessings we enjoy and the people who make our community a better place to live. At Lowe Dreesen Miller, we are deeply thankful for the small-town values that connect us in Pulaski County and the surrounding counties, and the hardworking individuals who dedicate themselves to serving others. From Fort Leonard Wood to Waynesville, St. Robert, and beyond, we are inspired by the sacrifices of our military personnel, veterans, first responders, teachers, and community leaders.

A Special Thank You to Our Community Heroes
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the following groups for their selfless contributions:
  1. Military Personnel and Veterans: Thank you for your unwavering commitment to protecting our freedoms and serving our state and nation with honor.
  2. Local Police and Rescue Workers: Your courage, quick response and actions keep our families safe and provide peace of mind in moments of need.
  3. Educators: Thank you for shaping young minds and investing in the future of our children and community with tireless dedication.
  4. Healthcare Workers: We’re grateful for your compassionate care and the sacrifices you’ve made, especially in recent challenging times.
  5. Community leaders and volunteers: Thank you for guiding our towns and devoting time to improving the lives of others through your leadership.

outreaches, orHow You Can Show Gratitude This Holiday Season

This season, we encourage you to take intentional steps to show your gratitude. Here are some simple yet meaningful ways (with links for more information) to express your thanks and give back:

1. Write Letters of Appreciation Encourage your family to write thank-you notes or letters to a local teacher, police officer, firefighter, military member, or veteran. A few kind words can make a big impact and brighten someone’s day.

2. Create Care Packages Assemble small care packages with items like snacks, hygiene products, and notes of encouragement for deployed service members, veterans, or first responders. Here is information from the USO on how to show appreciation with care packages. You can also donate to organizations like the USO or Wounded Warrior Project to support their work with care packages.

3. Volunteer in the Community Dedicate time to serving alongside local organizations that help those in need. Consider bell-ringing for the Salvation Army, being inovloved and supporting your local church Christmas activities and outreaches,  or volunteering at a local food pantry or shelter.

4. Give Back Through Donations If your time is limited, consider supporting charitable organizations in Pulaski County that make a difference in our community. Here are a few options:
  • Angel Tree Program: Provide holiday gifts for children in need. Contact the local Salvation Army to find an angel tree near you. Learn more here.

  • Toys for Tots: Donate toys to bring joy to children during the holiday season. Learn more here.

  • Pulaski County Salvation Army: Support their efforts through financial gifts, volunteering, or participating in their Red Kettle Campaign. Learn more here.

  • Local Churches and Food Pantries: Many area churches host food drives or special collections to support families during the holidays.

From all our attorneys and staff at Lowe Dreesen Miller, may God bless you all with a wonderful holiday season.
