About

Christopher N. Piatt joined the office of Lowe Dreesen Miller after practicing law for well over a decade. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced as an associate in-house counsel, assistant prosecuting attorney, and as the managing attorney for the local public defender’s office. He has tried over 30 cases to a jury and is well known for his skills in negotiation and trial preparation. Chris will focus his practice on both civil and criminal law at Lowe Dreesen Miller.

Chris grew up in Dent County, Missouri, and returned to this area in 2013. After graduating from Salem High School, he earned a bachelor's degree from Missouri State University in 2004. While an undergraduate, he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, serving on the executive committee of that organization from 2000–2004. He also maintained full-time employment throughout college to avoid going into debt. He attended Washington University’s School of Law, where he served as the president of the Federalist Society and as an editor of the Jurisprudence Review.

Chris enlisted in the Army Reserve after completing his undergraduate studies and was commissioned through the Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia, before becoming an engineer officer. During his time with the military, Chris served in numerous leadership positions, including team leader, platoon leader, detachment commander, patrol commander, company commander, and operations officer. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters. He deployed to Iraq in support of the Global War on Terror, where he conducted counter-IED operations, counterinsurgency operations, and training operations for the engineers of the Sixth Iraqi Army.

Chris lives with his wife, Leah, and their three sons in Rolla, Missouri. When he’s not practicing law, Chris can usually be found exploring Missouri’s caves, rivers, and trails with his boys or coaching one of their sports teams.
